The star has donated the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound award cash to the Music Venues Trust, which functions to save the Britain's small music venues.
Fender was presented with the award on mid-October as his third album the album was declared the top album of the past year.
He has opted to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the crucial part grassroots venues fulfilled in his early career.
"I wouldn't be doing what I am doing today if it weren't for all the gigs I did around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was starting out," remarked the artist. "These venues are legendary, but they are in difficulty."
Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these locations have shut down – approximately 16% of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, major artists including Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all aided the Music Venues Trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by including a modest fee to their ticket prices, which goes to help local stages.
Sam Fender also took part, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to support thirty-eight small stages across England, Scotland, and Wales.
The money helped locations that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties arising from flooding, fires and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, court cases and sound issues.
Some locations were granted monetary aid in upgrading infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that helped performers and concertgoers.
"The idea that money from shows in big venues supports the independent spots, where it all starts for artists like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has commented.
Fender is among several artists to give his award funds to good deeds.
In Pulp earned the trophy in the year 1996 for their release the album, lead singer Jarvis Cocker declared that the group would give their cash to the organization War Child.
During 2002, artist she split her prize between several charities, such as the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.
"And I gave a thousand pounds to my local community centre, to their gymnastics program, because I practiced gymnastics when I was younger and they required updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to a publication.
Previously, Ezra Collective donated their prize money to the local youth club that supported their band, in addition to other independent music bodies.
And 1994 winners they gave their award to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was found to have the illness.
"Winning was ample," remarked artist Heather Small. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the main prize. So our winning affected somebody else's life."
Recently, the trust shared it had rescued several grassroots venues in that region, by placing them under public stewardship.
One venue in that area and the second in Bristol were bought under the community ownership program, which is supported by a national body and supporters who buy "stakes" in the properties.
